Engineering
Big Shed Builders uses the unique MGA engineering for our buildings which includes the latest in steel fabrication technology and a double plated connecting system called TMTS(Total Moment Transfer System).This engineering exceeds the requirements of the Australian Standards (AS1170).This is a crucial component to the structure making it an extremely secure and sturdy shed.
As a result of this unique engineering it was awarded the International Design for 1997 and is proudly the only range of pre-engineered portal frame buildings to have received such a high status in Australia.
At Big Shed Builders we choose this type of shed engineering because we believe this to be an extremely valuable part in the manufacturing of sheds and see this as an easy introduction to our clients whether this is a small garage or an Industrial Building.
Footing Brackets
The Footing Brackets use an anticyclone hold down system, which means they are set into the slab 350mm under each Portal Frame for resistance. This protects against any unusual movements in the foundations which may damage the structure of the shed. The brackets are a heavy duty hot dipped galvanised bracket ensuring to be the strongest on the market today.
Portal Frames
Combining our award winning Apex and Knee plates with the Total Movement Transfer System (TMTS) our galvanised cold form steel portal frames last longer and are more durable.
Stud Frames
We use a thick galvanised cold form steel stud for our Stud Frames And Trusses and a rigid top plate for added strength.
Wall and Roof Sheeting
Big Shed Builders uses only recommended steel suppliers that are approved .47TCT (top coat thickness) for interdeck and custom orb required in cyclonic areas.
Steel sheeting and roofing comes in two types of steel zincalume or colorbond . There is a diverse range of colours for Colorbond which can be provided for perusal upon request.
